Co‑curricular Activities:
There's a wide
range of co‑curricular activities considered vital in the
development of learning beyond the classroom. Through these
activities the school aims to;
Cultivate and
develop student's interest & talents.
Inculcate the
spirit of competition, team participation and encourage proper
use of leisure hours.
Promote
inter‑school, inter‑community events and activities which would
eventually lead to national and international participation.
Sports and
games are given due impetus. The school has a fairly large
playground.
To inculcate
the concept of service and awareness of community needs, girls
guide & boy scouts have been enrolled.
Gon-e-Lachha`r Program:
This program is
recently launched to get access to informal channels of
education reaching beyond traditional boundaries of learning.
Celebrities
from Northern Areas are aimed to invite to share their life
history with teachers and students. We seek golden ideas from
these prominent personalities to cultivate enthusiasm in faculty
and students.
HMPS focuses on
the prominent personalities of the region who grew from the
ashes of disparity and poverty to the climax of success through
positive approach, courage and continued efforts. Their life
history bears multiple potential points which transmit energy to
young generations. Their success story provokes following
generation to keep continue pace of development even under
unfavourable conditions. As these personalities are seldom
highlighted in books. We initiated to explore the fertile areas
of learning beyond chronic tools and boundaries of education.
Gon-e-Lachha`r program includes self-made scholars,
mountaineers, institutional heads, researchers, intellectuals,
lawyers and others.
House
System:
To foster
powers of organisation and leadership and to promote the spirit
of competition, the school is divided into four houses i.e.
Jinnah House, Cina House, Hasegawa House & Masami House.
Inter‑house competitions are conducted in various areas of
co‑curricular activities such as debates, quiz competitions and
sports. Prefectorial system is also introduced.
Parent
Teacher Interaction:
Teachers need
parents' support. There has to be a strong partnership between
home and school to help the students to benefit fully from the
school. Regular parent‑teacher meetings are held to discuss and
help the students to progress.
It is important
for all the parents‑both fathers and mothers to be involved at
all times with the child's education. The teacher will always be
ready to help the student, to understand the child's problems,
to explain our philosophy and methodology.
Academic Year:
There are three
terms from Feb ‑ April, May ‑ August & September ‑ November.
There is a
month's summer break in July.
The school
remains closed in January ‑ February for Winter Vacations.
Exams
and Reports:
The school
conducts test & exams as under;
I – II Weekly
class tests.
III‑V Monthly
tests.
VI‑IX
Bi‑monthly tests.
First Term, Mid
term & Annual Term examination. Reports are sent to the
parents thrice in a year.
Promotion &
detentions are at the discretion of the school authorities.
