The idea of this school was conceived after Tsuneo Hasegawa; a world-famed climber was hit by an avalanche and expired on the spot while heroically attempting the Ulter Peak (7388m) on 10th October 1991. Mrs. Masami Hasegawa, the dedicated widow of Late Hasegawa resolved to keep her late husband’s name alive in shape of a memorial project in Karimabad, Hunza.

The idea of a quality educational institute came from the visionary people of Karimabad, who desired for an institution which can cater services of quality education: a dire need for personal and community development and cope with the demands of the region. Synchronizing the ideas of enlightened people and resources offered by the donors , a visible progress was pre-ampted to achieve the target.  Mrs. Masami Hasegawa after consultation and with unanimous support of the community resolved to meet this challenge.  more

E-School

As part of IDRC's funded project ICT4D, KADO selected HMPS as a E-School for the action research. The objective was to demonstrate the use of ICT for affordable quality education. Under this initiative, IT resource centers have been established in two schools, and a well designed research intervention is in progress to see how ICT could be helpful to improve the learning process in the schools. Under this initiative teachers and students have been trained in basic computer and IT skills, and are using these new technologies to improve the teaching and learning processes.
